The Galena River Trail offers 8.0 miles (one way) of scenic hiking, biking or cross-country skiing.

The tour begins with an enjoyable UTV ride through the trees to the first platform. The course gets progressively longer starting with shorter ziplines and ending with 3 ziplines over 700 feet long. Reach speeds up to 40 mph and heights of 75 feet! Rappel off of a platform and venture across our 140 foot sky bridge to reach our final 1,250 foot zipline. For the final challenge element you can choose to QuickJump or Rappel!
Every tour will be given an orientation on safety and braking before beginning on the first zipline. Each guest wears a waist and shoulder harness with lanyards that are attached to steel cables at all times while up at height.
Enjoy approximately 2 1/2 hours of thrilling fun on this completely guided canopy tour!

Berning Acres is a family-owned dairy farm located in Menominee, Illinois (halfway between East Dubuque & Galena).
They milk 400 cows, mostly Holsteins (the black and white ones!) and run about 850 acres.
They are passionate about what they do, and they love educating others about what farming looks like today. Their hope is that you’ll visit their farm and leave with some great knowledge about agriculture, farm animals and farm life (and a deeper appreciation for that wholesome nutritious glass of milk you enjoy each day!)

Family Fun, Live Polka Music, Wiener Dog Racing, plus German-style Food and Beer, headline this years popular event.
This 15th annual event will begin at noon with a cannon blast, tapping of the keg, and polka music.
Main attractions will be the wiener dog races, polka music and dancing lessons, non-stop live music, and games for adults and children.
Hosted by the Galena Lions Club, all proceeds from this event will go back to the community to serve those in need.
Pre-registration is required for Wiener Dog Races and Bean Bag Tournament.
*Wagons, wheelchairs, walkers, and all leashed, friendly dogs are welcome.

Join us on the Galena River October 9th as 4,000 rubber ducks are *gently* tossed in the river in a race to see who can finish first.

All proceeds raised allow Riverview Center, a non-profit organization, to continue providing 100% free and confidential services to survivors of sexual or domestic violence in Jo Daviess and Carroll counties in Illinois.

This is a fast, flat half marathon along the scenic Galena River Trail.
An 8K race option is also offered.
Due to Galena Halloween festivities that day, the course will close at 11:30 AM. Because of this no walkers are allowed for the half marathon and runners must finish before course closes.

The parade of revelers will assemble at 2:30 PM for a trek around Galena’s Main Street in assorted modes of transportation and merriment from horse-drawn wagons to trollies as the 38th Annual Nouveau wine is delivered to Galena merchants who sport the Nouveau posters in their shop windows.

“Le Beaujolias Nouveau est arrivé!”
Local restaurants and Galena businesses continue the celebration all weekend with live music, wine tastings, dinner specials and receptions.
