This come and go, family-friendly event will feature traveling local artisans with holiday items and local food vendors, Christmas music including live Christmas caroling, kids’ activities, a Galena business raffle, petting zoo, ice skating rink and skate rental, and more! All activities are free thanks to all sponsors. The event will work together with the mission of the Galena ARC which is partially to “develop community cooperation in programs and activities which further arts/crafts, sports, and recreation for all ages.”

Ring of Kerry - Celtic Holiday Concert

Celebrate the holidays with Irish folk band Ring of Kerry.
Based in Minnesota, Ring of Kerry melds Celtic and American influences with traditional music, using a variety of Celtic instruments including whistles, flutes, guitar, hammered dulcimer, fiddle, cello, bouzouki, and bodhran.
The group will also be joined onstage by members of McNulty Irish Dancers. Having recently commemorated its 40th anniversary, McNulty School of Irish Dance has become one of the largest Irish Dance Schools in the Midwest, winning international competitions across borders, including Ireland and Montreal.
This free Holiday concert, carries on the spirit and tradition of the former Galena Festival for the Performing Arts. Free will donations will be gratefully accepted, as the generosity of the public allows the Galena Center for the Arts to continue to provide exceptional music and art to the Tri-State area each year.

Holiday Cookie Walk

Experience a unique holiday tradition at the historic DeSoto House Ballroom's annual cookie walk, benefiting the Galena Arts & Recreation Center. For a small fee, shoppers receive a box and gloves to handpick from hundreds of homemade holiday baked goods, making it a quick, easy, and delicious way to complete your holiday baking. Don't miss this festive event held until the cookies run out, typically around 11 am.
Proceeds to benefit the Galena ARC. Cookies are $10.00 per pound.

Night of the Luminaria & Living Windows

Downtown Galena
Don't miss one of the most beautiful and romantic nights of the year when Galena presents their living windows and luminary.
From Main Street to the hills overlooking Grant Park, all of Galena will be glowing. Enter a land of enchantment on this magical night with more than 5,000 candlelit luminaries on streets, steps, and sidewalks.
Luminaries are typically lit from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. From 4:00pm - 7:00pm store windows on Main Street come alive with holiday-inspired animated Living Windows. Many of the businesses offer extended hours, so take advantage of the magic and do some holiday shopping!
From 6:00pm - 7:00pm a group of carolers from Galena Center for the Arts will create a jubilant atmosphere in the beautiful Grant Park Gazebo, serenading the crowd with classic Christmas carols and spreading cheer throughout the town. Everyone is invited to join and sing along, as the warm glow of the holiday luminaries makes the event feel even more magical.

Snowflakes & Sweets Stroll

Find sweet treats sprinkled along Main Street in charming Galena, IL!
The stroll itself will be on Saturday from 12 PM to 4 PM. You have to purchase your ticket ahead of time which will get you a punch card good for 10 sweet treats. The sweet treats will be a mix (chosen by you) of cookies, candies, drinks, including some boozy options.
Tickets MUST be ordered ahead of time and we have always sold out early, so don't delay! All ticket holders must check in to pick up their punch card at Galena Cellars, 111 N. Main St, Galena, IL 61036 on Saturday between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
