Generals’

Named in honor of Galena’s nine Civil War generals, this restaurant offers casual evening dining with house specialties, steaks, seafood and pasta dishes.  Aaron Alexander at the Piano Friday and Saturday evenings.


Appetizers

The Onion Haystack
     Thinly sliced Onions hand dipped in our Seasoned Batter, then fried
     to a golden brown.  Served with a side of Barbecue Sauce and Ranch
     Dressing for dipping.  $5.95

Stuffed Cavalry Caps – House Specialty
     Mushrooms stuffed with our own blend of Crabmeat, Parmesan
     and Mozzarella Cheese, topped with Bread Crumbs, then baked.  $6.95

Infantry on Horseback – House Specialty
     Gulf Shrimp wrapped in Bacon and broiled, served with a Snappy Sauce.  $9.95
 
Bruschetta    
     Rustic Country Bread, toasted and brushed with extra~virgin Olive Oil.                    
     Topped with a with fresh Tomato and Basil Relish.  $6.95 

Shrimp Cocktail
     Five Jumbo Shrimp served with a Traditional Cocktail Sauce and garnished

Generals’ Caesar Salad
   Charbroiled, skinless, boneless Breast of Chicken fanned on a bed of
    Romaine Lettuce with traditional Caesar Dressing and garnished
    with fresh Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Homemade Croutons.  Sprinkled
    with grated Parmesan Cheese.  $10.95

Cobb Salad

   Diced Chicken Breast, Bacon, Hard Cooked Eggs, Scallions and Tomatoes
    atop a bed of mixed Greens, finished with Crumbled Bleu Cheese and
    Thinly sliced Avocado, served with your choice of Dressing.  $11.95

The Drunken Soldier – House Specialty
     Boneless, skinless Breast of Chicken marinated in Tequila, Lime Juice
     and Lemon Juice, seasoned with Garlic and Cilantro, then sautéed
     with julienned Red and Green Peppers and Onions.  $16.95 

Cornish Pasty – House Specialty

     This dish, which originated as a handy way for miners to take their dinner
     to work, is a mixture of lean Ground Chuck, Potatoes, Onions and Carrots
     all rolled into a pastry pouch, served with a side of rich Brown Gravy
     and traditional Coleslaw.  $13.95

Cabbage Town Wiener Schnitzel
    Tender Veal lightly breaded and cooked to a golden Brown, Served 
    With a side of rich Brown Gravy, Red Cabbage and Spaetzle.  $21.95

Tips and Spaetzle – House Specialty
     A house favorite for many years, seared Tenderloin Beef Tips, Mushrooms,
     and Pearl Onions with a rich Burgundy Sauce, served over Sautéed
     Spaetzle, topped with Sour Cream.  $15.95

Mediterranean Stuffed Breast of Chicken
     Boneless, skinless Breast of Chicken, stuffed with Feta Cheese, Pine
     Nuts, Roasted Garlic, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Wild Mushrooms, with

Pasta Desoto
     Rotini pasta tossed with sautéed Chicken, Asparagus, Mushrooms, Onion,

    Fresh Portabella Mushroom Ravioli topped with a homemade Marinara

Salmon Fillet
    Fresh Atlantic Salmon, Broiled and served with a Lemon Butter Sauce.  $18.95

Mahi-Mahi
     Charbroiled to Perfection this boneless Mahi-Mahi is topped with

     taste. (All orders medium well to well will be butterflied unless

Iowa’s Best Pork Chop

    A thick Iowa Chop grilled, or baked and stuffed with our own Sage
